London has long been a magnet for international touring musicians, with its world-class venues, recording studios, and rehearsal spaces forming the backbone of a truly global music scene. For many US or international artists, stepping onto a UK stage is more than just another date on the tour – it can be the moment a career breaks on an international scene.
But preparing for a major tour takes more than a few hours in a practice room. Serious artists need a dedicated base where they can refine their act, rehearse full-scale production, and work under conditions that mirror the live show. London is uniquely positioned for this – home to legendary venues, discerning audiences, and one of the most influential music industries in the world.
That’s why touring acts are choosing to book rehearsal facilities for extended periods, giving themselves the space, technical support, and comfort needed to reach peak performance before stepping on stage.
Situated in North West London, Soundstage Studios offers exactly this: a fully equipped rehearsal and production hub designed for long-term use. With spacious, acoustically treated studios, on-site technical resources, and excellent road and rail connections, it has become an ideal base for artists arriving in the UK to prepare for their tour success.
A Purpose-Built Environment for Tour Preparation
Stepping into Soundstage Studios, it is likely to become apparent that these spaces were designed with touring artists in mind. Rather than small, cramped rooms suited only to a quick run-through, the studios here offer the scale and technical depth needed for serious mid-size tour rehearsals.
Rehearsal Studio 1 offers 600 sq ft of performance space, Available fully equipped with PA and backline, and even a kitchenette and shower facilities, making it a comfortable choice for extended sessions. A separate Green Room provides space to relax or strategise between takes.
For larger ensembles or full-production run-throughs, Rehearsal Studio 2 delivers 2,500 sq ft in total (1,600 sq ft of clear performance space). Options include lighting, PA, and backline ready to go, it’s a favourite for bigger bands, mid-sized orchestral rehearsals, and pre-tour setups. The studio also features a dedicated Green Room, Dressing Rooms, Production Office, and equipment storage, giving artists and crews everything they need within arm’s reach.
And at the heart of it all is sound. Each room is isolated and acoustically treated with panels, bass traps, and diffusion, ensuring every note rings clear with minimal colourisation or interference from spurious noises. Whether you’re fine-tuning harmonies or locking in a stadium-ready rhythm section, the studios provide a controlled, professional sound environment that maps directly to the stage.
 Facilities that Support Long-Term Rehearsals
Tour rehearsals are about more than playing music – they bring the entire production together, from the performers on stage to the crew, managers, and technical teams behind the scenes. Soundstage Studios is designed to support every part of that process.
Artists can take advantage of Green Rooms and Dressing Rooms, along with a Production Office that keeps everything organized and efficient. Showers and kitchen facilities are also available – making it conducive to work long hours and carry rehearsals through extended days in comfort.
For crews, in-house repair service, backline and equipment rental, and on-site storage are additional facilities that further support and help ensure everything runs smoothly..
The result is a space that operates more like a complete tour headquarters than a simple rehearsal room – a place where every detail is accounted for, where every need can be met under one roof.
Access and Connectivity
For touring artists, convenience is as critical as the rehearsal itself. Soundstage Studios makes logistics simple with ground-level access that allows direct load-in and load-out of equipment – no stairs, no bottlenecks, just a clear path from truck to stage.
Adjacent secure parking facilities mean van, bus, or tour truck may be accommodated safely on-site, removing the hassle of London’s often complex parking restrictions.Â
For visiting international clients, our location could hardly be more practical: just off the A40 at Gypsy Corner, with direct routes to the M40, M25, M1, and M4, and within easy reach of Heathrow and Gatwick airports.

Trusted by World-Class Artists
Over the years, Soundstage Studios has been privileged to host some of the most distinguished names in entertainment. With world-class facilities and a convenient London location, we have become a trusted base for many artists preparing for major tours and productions.
Discretion lies at the heart of everything we do, and the confidence of our clients is paramount. Yet, as time passes and certain moments settle into musical history, it is hopefully less inappropriate to look back and share the occasional glimpse of a few more memorable moments that have taken place within our walls.
Most recently (September 2025), I am deeply saddened by the loss of Danny Thompson.
Frankly, we might only have met a handful of times, but Danny was so warm and genuine that it always felt as though you had known him forever. I still remember laughing when he told me, “…and I’m eighty-something.” I thought he was joking. I guess he was not.
His career speaks for itself: from Kate Bush and John Martyn to his role as a founding member of the legendary Pentangle; from featuring on the Thunderbirds theme tune and playing bass for Roy Orbison when The Beatles were still the opening act; to collaborations with jazz greats like Tubby Hayes and Stan Tracey, as well as Donovan, June Tabor, Nick Drake, Richard Thompson, and The Blind Boys of Alabama.
Then he introduced Roger Daltrey:
Also Barbera Dixon
After several years of radio silence, I feel so fortunate to have spoken with him only a couple of months ago – “Wotcha, Danny!”Â
At 86, his passing should not have come as a shock, though this is little consolation – albeit a valuable reminder that time is precious and never to be wasted nor taken for granted.
Danny was a force of nature, a player who always served the song and who enriched the lives of everyone he met. Larger than life – but he will be sorely missed.
We had the privilege of hosting Barry Gibb, band, and crew for the Glastonbury 2017 Legends set. A wonderful team of people. After they left, Tour Manager Carlos submitted his review that still stands out as perhaps the most generous and thoughtful testimonial that I could ever hope to receive.

Soundstage Studios..
THE place to consider if you are rehearsing for ANY event when you are performing in the United Kingdom!
I served as the Production Manager for International Iconic Artist Barry Gibb, who was performing this year at the prestigious Glastonbury Festival, headlining the Pyramid Stage “Legends” Slot.
Before the show, we began searching for a suitable location to hold the final Rehearsals for this event.
I exhausted over 20 rehearsal locations in the greater London area, and it was determined that Soundstage Studios was the best site for our Production.
Walking into a new, unknown location after a Trans- Atlantic flight is never a good way to start the day, but my fears of securing an adequate location just by emails and pictures immediately went away as soon as I entered the Facility.
Barry’s Band is a 13-piece Ensemble, and even with all the extra monitors, Video Teleprompter, & risers,s ALL fit extremely comfortably in the spacious Studio.
Through conversations before our arrival, David and his Staff had pre-purchased Groceries, Supplies, & Water for the Crew that was to be working on Set-Up day, and ANY requests that I needed were promptly fulfilled.
I attribute the resounding success at Glastonbury to the comfortable feeling that David was able to achieve during our 5 days at the facility.
Even on our last day of rehearsals after Loading Out the gear, David made sure that I didn’t have to wait for a Cab to take me back to our Hotel and drove me there himself.
David and his Staff and Facility are to be commended in this age of “Take the Money & Run” Business mentality for their dedication to “Serving The Customer”
I know he has gained a new one now!

Even rock royalty has made use of London rehearsals at Soundstage to fine-tune their live shows – a testament to the calibre of environment required for world-class performances.
One remarkable occasion was a week of rehearsals for James Burton and Friends at The London Palladium in June 2023 – an unforgettable event that united a uniquely accomplished and diverse line-up.
James Burton, the legendary rock and roll guitarist and honoree of the evening, was joined by an extraordinary cast: Sir Brian May, Van Morrison, Ronnie Wood, Albert Lee, Micky Dolenz, Steve Wariner, John Oates, Jeff “Skunk” Baxter, Paul Shaffer, Tommy Emmanuel, Arielle, and Harry Churchill.
The production overflowed with talent, but what stood out most was the spirit in which it was shared – generous, joyful, and refreshingly free of ego. It was an occasion where collaboration eclipsed competition, and the simple joy of making music together took centre stage.
Judge for yourself:
Rehearse with the World’s Finest
We are, of course, always honoured to welcome such hallowed names, but what truly defines Soundstage is the trust placed in us by all artists – and it is that trust that is our proudest endorsement. Every performer, artist, and technician who chooses Soundstage Studios matters to us, and it is our privilege to support each one on their creative journey.
Equally, we should not understate the excitement of working with fresh talent. Over the past few years, we have been proud partners of the HotVox / War Child charity initiative, filming around 100 live sessions each season with emerging artists from across the UK. Together, these efforts have helped raise an incredible £432,000 to date for a vital cause – a testament to the power of music and community.
